To celebrate Arbor Day, RS Walsh Landscaping donated a beautiful, native clusia rosea tree to CHR for the new playground at our Airport Way property. After relocating three sabal palms, a perfect spot was available right next to the new playground area. The RS Walsh crew expertly planted the tree on Arbor Day and they are now working on more landscaping as the playground project finishes.
“This area gives kids a nice place to play and meet,” said CHR board member Dr. Phil Marks. “Airport Way is a very family oriented community.”
“The new tree will provide shade and beauty,” added George Campean, the CHR board member who has been heading up the playground project and overseeing volunteers. The clusia rosea tree is also known as an “autograph tree” because you can “write” on its leaves by scratching on them lightly and the leaves will hold the marks for a long time.
Landscaping of the playground area is in its final stages and the next stage is the assembly of the playground equipment, which can now begin.
