CHR is pleased to welcome island attorney Jason Maughan to its Board of Directors. Maughan has been involved with the Sanibel community since emigrating from Ireland in 1986 after visiting since 1976. He continues to remain involved by holding numerous board positions, pro bono representation of disadvantaged island workers and families, and serving as a City Planning Commissioner.

“The honor of serving as a CHR board member,” Maughan said, “marries all of my previous volunteer work in the public and private domains with my personal desire to help those that truly help residents to enjoy and maintain the finest community in the state.”

Jason Maughan was voted Best Attorney and Law Firm of Sanibel and Captiva Islands in 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015. He was voted Florida Businessman of the Year by the National Republican Congressional Committee in 2006 and 2007, and was appointed Honorary Chairman, Business Advisory Counsel, by them in 2006. He received the Congressional Medal of Distinction in 2007, and was selected to Super Lawyers in 2015. His specialties in Florida include litigation and transactions in construction, real estate, and corporate law. CHR’s 12-member board of directors leads the organization in its mission of providing affordable housing on Sanibel for island workers and for long-time residents who become retired or disabled.
