Community Housing and Resources (CHR) is excited to announce that through a unique partnership, Lowe’s Home Improvement is playing an integral role in their 2017 Mardi Gras fundraiser, coming up on February 11th at The Dunes.
The local Ft. Myers Lowe’s store, with direction from store manager Leonard Kinzel, has stepped up in a huge way to support CHR and the Sanibel community. Several team members from the retail store will be attending the Mardi Gras event, lending helping hands for set up, decoration, and more. “We are looking forward to working with CHR on the Mardi Gras event in February,” says Lowe’s HR Manager Katie Gossic. “Last year was a great event and we anticipate this year being even better. CHR’s mission aligns perfectly with Lowe’s purpose to Help People Love Where They Live, and CHR is making that a reality for residents of Sanibel that need affordable housing.”
A highlight of the Mardi Gras event will be the “Lowe’s Houses of Love,” a mini model home configuration set up at the event featuring kitchen appliances, cabinetry, bathroom fixtures, toilets and more, illustrating exactly what is needed to rehab some of CHR’s units that are currently in most critical need. This tangible giving opportunity will allow Mardi Gras partygoers to be able to “purchase” all of these items at deeply discounted prices and provide them directly to CHR. In addition to the mini store set up, Lowe’s is graciously providing three awesome prizes to be raffled off at the event and will also be allowing local employees to take advantage of a paid day of service later in the year as they join forces with CHR to complete much needed renovation and rehab projects.
